Torrealba leaving Padres for three days

SAN DIEGO -- Padres catcher Yorvit Torrealba will be placed on the restricted list on Monday and will be away from the team for three days as he attends to what manager Bud Black called "personal matters."

Torrealba started in the Padres' 3-2 victory over the Nationals in 11 innings on Sunday. He went 1-for-5 and threw out Ian Desmond on a steal attempt.

The Padres will officially add catcher Dusty Ryan to the roster before the start of their game Monday against the New York Mets at PETCO Park.

Ryan is hitting .118 with Triple-A Portland and had three home runs and eight RBIs in 35 games.

Ryan was first-year general manager Jed Hoyer's first acquisition. The Padres obtained him from the Detroit Tigers on Dec. 21 for cash or a player to be named later.
