Adams set to make rehab appearance
LOS ANGELES -- Padres reliever Mike Adams, on the disabled list since July 12 with a left oblique strain, will pitch one inning for Double-A San Antonio on Thursday in Corpus Christi.
Adams, who on Tuesday missed his 17th game with the injury, has had two successful bullpen sessions since the All-Star break and has reported no residual pain.
There was some consideration that he would be reinstated from the 15-day disabled list during this four-game series against the Dodgers.
San Diego manager Bud Black said there's a chance Adams could join the team on Friday, when the Padres open a three-game series in Arizona.
