Young could start rehab stint next week

|
SAN DIEGO -- Padres starting pitcher Chris Young, on the 60-day disabled list since the first week of the season with a strained right shoulder, threw a fifth bullpen session on Saturday and could be headed for a Minor League rehab stint as soon as Tuesday.

"We're going to talk about that at some point [on Saturday] or early in the morning [on Sunday]," Padres manager Bud Black said. "It's not a definite, but it's a possibility. We'll see."

Young threw his second simulated game on Thursday and remains encouraged by the progress his shoulder has made during the past month. His goal is still to pitch for the Padres in September.
