Padres Announce Non-Roster Invites to Major League Spring Training

Pitchers & catchers scheduled to report Tuesday, February 14 and position players Friday, February 17

SAN DIEGO - The San Diego Padres announced they have extended Major League Spring Training invitations to 28 players. Among those 28 players are 14 minor league free agents whom the Padres have signed to 2017 contracts that will be new to the organization this season, including right-handed pitchers Logan Bawcom, Carlos Fisher, Aroni Nina, Andre Rienzo and Craig Stammen, catchers Tony Cruz and Stephen McGee, infielders Erick Aybar, Dusty Coleman, Jamie Romak and Christian Villanueva and outfielders Nick Buss, Collin Cowgill and Rafael Ortega.

The list of non-roster invitees includes 11 right-handed pitchers, two left-handers, four catchers, seven infielders and four outfielders. Of the invitees, 17 of the 28 have Major League experience. Additionally, five of the 28 were originally drafted by the Padres. Below is a complete and current list of all non-roster players who will attend 2017 Major League Spring Training:
