Padres host D-backs, Cardinals and Rockies for twelfth homestand

The Padres return home Friday, September 7 for a nine-game homestand, featuring a weekend series against the Arizona Diamondbacks followed by three games against the St. Louis Cardinals and another weekend series against the Colorado Rockies. The homestand will be highlighted by Beerfest, Military Family Appreciation Day and Jerry Coleman Day presented by Scripps Health.

Home action begins tonight with a 7:05 p.m. start against the D-Backs. Tonight's game will be preceded by Friday Night Party: Beerfest. The second tasting event of the season will feature offerings from more than two dozen breweries. Regular-sized beers priced at $5 will be available for purchase with Friar Funds exclusively. Fans will have the opportunity to buy Friar Funds at multiple locations Friday. First pour is at 5:00 p.m.; last pour is at approximately 7:00 p.m.

Sunday marks Military Family Appreciation Day presented by USAA, when the Padres will honor our military families and the non-profit organizations and Family Readiness Officers who are dedicated to supporting the spouses and children who make our military stronger.

Prior to all Sunday home games, fans with tickets are invited to enjoy Breakfast at the Park. A special selection of breakfast menu items will be offered for purchase along K Street at Park at the Park.  In addition to seating at the Park at the Park, tables may be set up on the warning track, allowing fans to dine on the Petco Park field on a first-come, first-served basis, barring batting practice. Gates will open to Season Ticket Holders with reservations at 10:00 a.m. Gates will open to the general public at 10:30 a.m.

From 11:30 a.m. to noon two Padres players will sign autographs at the Park at the Park for Jr. Padres Sunday Signings. A Jr. Padres membership is required to participate in the signing event. Membership is free, and kids can sign up online or in-person on the day of the event.

Before Monday's game, the Padres will recognize and highlight the Padres Foundation's featured charity partner this homestand, Operation Homefront Southern California. The Padres Foundation and Miller lite will present Operation Homefront Southern California with a $16,754 donation - representing $10,000 from Miller Lite, $5,000 from the Padres Foundation and $1,754 donated through the Miller Lite Text to Donate campaign - in  support of its mission to provide emergency financial and other assistance to the families of our service members and wounded warriors. Since its inception, Operation Homefront has provided more than $128 million in funding to programs that benefit military families.

On Tuesday, Sept. 11, the Padres will mark 11 years since the tragedies of 9/11 with a day of remembrance.  The pregame ceremony will salute first responders representing firefighters, police officers, and Homeland Security.

Prior to Wednesday's 3:35 p.m. series finale against the Cardinals, Olympic Gold Medal gymnast and member of the acclaimed USA Fierce Five team, Kyla Ross, will throw the Ceremonial First Pitch. Kyla will be performing Thursday in the Kellogg's Tour of Gymnastics event at the Valley View Casino Center.

Friday marks the final Retro Night this season: 90's Night, presented by Verizon. Padres players will wear the 1997 "Tony Gwynn Silver Slugger" uniforms, as chosen by a pre-season online fan vote. Former Padres outfield Steve Finley will throw out the Ceremonial First Pitch. The 90's Night party at Park at the Park will feature food and drink specials from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., as well as entertainment provided by the "No Doubt" tribute band "No Duh".

Also Friday, the Padres have teamed up with State Farm for the Go to Bat program to salute some of the area's deserving charities that have shown support and commitment to building strong communities. Prior to Monday's game, the Padres will be honoring Voices for Children with the State Farm Go to Bat recognition.

Beginning Friday and extending through the remainder of home games this season, fans will be able to buy $1 Shirts off their Backs scratcher tickets for the chance to win the opportunity to take part in the 13th annual Shirts off their Backs ceremony presented by Sycuan Casino. Tickets will be available at the Gaslamp Gate, on the main concourse near sections 103 and 123, and from Guest Service Representatives throughout the ballpark. Following the final home game of the season on Sept. 30, approximately 44 winners will receive a game-worn jersey off the back of a Padres player or coach. All proceeds from the scratcher ticket sales will benefit the Padres Foundation. Over the past 12 years, this program has raised more than $485,000 in support of the Padres Foundation.

Following Friday's game, fans are invited to stay to enjoy the final Friday Night Fireworks show of the season, which will feature a 90's theme in honor of Retro Night.

Saturday, Sept. 15 marks Jerry Coleman Day presented by Scripps Health, celebrating the San Diego icon's 70 years in baseball, 40 of them with the Padres. The first 25,000 fans in attendance will receive a commemorative Jerry Coleman Day patch. Please note: Saturday's game time has been changed to 5:35 p.m. for broadcasting purposes. Fans should be in their seats at least 30 minutes before game time to ensure they do not miss a moment of the special pregame ceremony, which will feature the unveiling of a Jerry Coleman statue at Petco Park and a flyover of Marine Corps F-18 fighter jets.

The homestand wraps up Sunday, Sept. 16 with U.S. Air Force Appreciation Day, presented by USAA.  The pregame ceremony will honor local airmen whose mission is to "fly, fight and win in air, space and cyberspace."  Marine Corps veterans of Operation SHUFLY, the first Marine Task Unit to provide air support during Vietnam, will also be in attendance.

From 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, fans will have the opportunity to meet and get autographs from Lucha Libre wrestling legends El Hijo del Santo and Blue Demon Jr. The meet-and-greet will take place at Park at the Park.

Following Sunday's game, kids 14 years of age and younger are invited down on the field to run the bases at Petco Park for the final time this season. At the conclusion of the eighth inning, guests can begin lining up near the top of the Beachers on K Street. A Jr. Padres membership is encouraged to participate in the event.
