Message from Padres on Yasmani Grandal
To our loyal Padres fans,

We are disappointed and disheartened to learn of the suspension of Yasmani Grandal for violating Major League Baseball's Joint Drug Prevention & Treatment Program. Like you, we were surprised by his actions and want to reassure you that they do not reflect the values of the Padres organization.

The Padres support Major League Baseball's effort to rid the game of performance-enhancing drugs. Our coaches and staff work hard to educate our players about not only the rules regarding performance enhancing drugs but also about the risks to their health.

While we are limited in what we can say about this situation because of Major League Baseball's Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Players Association, we assure you that the Padres are committed to fielding a team that respects the integrity of the game, and a team that deserves your support.

Thank you for supporting your Padres.

Sincerely,
Ron L. Fowler
Executive Chairman

Tom Garfinkel
President and Chief Executive Officer
