Padres unveil 37-game Spring Training schedule
SAN DIEGO -- Ten television games highlight the Padres' Spring Training schedule, which was announced on Thursday.

The Padres will open their 37-game slate with their annual charity game against the Mariners on Feb. 22.

This will be the club's 20th spring in Peoria, Ariz.

The date for pitchers and catchers to report to the Padres' Spring Training facility is Feb. 12. On Feb. 16, the team will hold its first full-squad workout.

The Padres will also host a World Baseball Classic semifinal at the Peoria Sports Complex on March 14.

The 10 television games will be shown live locally by FOX Sports San Diego, including games against National League West foes, the Dodgers and Giants.

The Broadcast Company of the Americas will air at least 15 games in spring, either on XX 1090 or ESPN Radio 1700.

The Padres will take part in "Big League Weekend" on March 29-30 in San Antonio, where the team will play its final two exhibition games against the Rangers at the Alamodome. Both games will be broadcast on FOX Sports San Diego.

These will be the first Major League Baseball games played inside the Alamodome. San Antonio is the home of the Padres' Double-A affiliate, the San Antonio Missions of the Texas League.

From San Antonio, the team will fly to New York to open the regular season against the Mets at Citi Field on April 1. The Padres will play their home opener at Petco Park against the Dodgers on April 9.

Tickets for all spring games at the Peoria Sports Complex go on sale at 8 a.m. PT on Jan. 5. Tickets can be purchased online at padres.com, by phone at 800-677-1227 or in person in Peoria. Individual-game tickets begin at $7, with discounts available for groups and season-ticket packages.
