Padres to honor First Responders on Saturday

SAN DIEGO - The San Diego Padres today announced plans for Saturday to honor first responders who served during the recent San Diego County wildfires. Prior to the 7:10 p.m. game vs. the Chicago Cubs, representatives from more than 20 agencies from across Southern California will be recognized and thanked for their exhaustive, collaborative efforts this month, which saved countless lives, homes and property.

The pregame ceremony will include on-field recognition, a video tribute and a flyover by San Diego Fire-Rescue and San Diego Sheriff/CAL FIRE. Throughout the game, the Padres will show video messages of appreciation from players and coaches. In addition, Padres players will wear caps from regional first responder agencies during batting practice on Saturday.

Several club partners have stepped up to the plate in support of the Padres Foundation's efforts for Saturday. Golden State Graphics and Mission Federal Credit Union both have donated funds to help host approximately 1,000 first responders and their families at Saturday's game.

The American Red Cross continues to provide relief to our neighbors who have been affected by the wildfires. Padres fans who would like to help can make donations online at and over the phone by calling 858.309.1278. Using these avenues for support will ensure funds stay within the San Diego/Imperial Counties chapter of the American Red Cross. To learn more, fans can visit representatives from the American Red Cross at the community kiosk at Park at the Park on Saturday.

As a reminder, the Padres are proud to offer military personnel and first responders $6 off any ticket priced $14 or higher for all regular season home games. San Diego County first responders also have access to 50 percent off ticket prices or $10 Right Field Lower Reserved seats for all Monday-Thursday games. Thanks to our partnership with GovX, these discounted tickets are now available for purchase online at, pending verification by GovX.
