Young needs further testing on shoulder

SAN DIEGO -- Injured right-hander Chris Young will return to San Diego on Tuesday for further testing on his strained right shoulder after making one rehabilitation start.

Young was roughed up on Sunday in his start with Double-A San Antonio, allowing five runs in two-thirds of an inning. He walked four and gave up two hits while getting two outs.

Manager Bud Black said Young is still experiencing soreness in the shoulder and will undergo more medical evaluation later this week.

"I think we're going to have [Young] undergo some tests in another couple of days," Black said. "He's a little sore from his outing, and we'll reevaluate the shoulder probably with another MRI in three or four days.

Young has been on the disabled list since April 7, a day after he threw six shutout innings in his first and only appearance this season with the Padres.
