Eric Christian Yardley...is the son of Chris and Michelle Yardley...has one brother, Brian, who played collegiate baseball at Gonzaga University...was a three-year varsity letter winner for the Richland (WA) High School Bombers...played four years and majored in education at Seattle University...after going undrafted in 2013, was going to pursue a Masters degree...drove 20 hours to New Mexico to play in the Independent Pecos League...played for the Taos Blizzard and Trinidad Triggers...his favorite TV show is How I Met Your Mother and his favorite actor is Mark Wahlberg...roots for the Seattle Seahawks...originally signed by Padres scout Justin Baughman.

Split the season between El Paso (AAA) and San Antonio (AA), posting a combined 2.05 ERA (16 ER, 70.1 IP)...Converted six of 10 save opportunities between the two clubs, appearing in 49 games (all in relief)...Fanned a career-high 60 batters (52 with the Missions and eight with the Chihuahuas)...Named a Texas League Mid-Season All-Star...prior to the All-Star game, owned a 3-0 record and a 2.21 ERA in 25 appearances...His 2.05 ERA is the second-best mark in a single season (behind his 1.89 ERA in 2013 with the AZL Padres...in each of his five professional seasons, he has yet to have an ERA over 3.00...Posted a 1.04 WHIP while with San Antonio and a 0.89 WHIP with El Paso...Allowed just 20 runs to score and 16 earned runs, his best marks since his first professional season in 2013 with the AZL Padres, when he allowed five runs and four earned runs in 12 appearances...Following the season, made 18 relief appearances for Gigantes del Cibao of the Domincan Winter League, posting a 2-1 record with a 0.48 ERA (1 ER, 18.2 IP).
