COACHING CAREER

Enters his third year with the Padres organization and first on the Major League coaching staff as first base coach after serving as an assistant to baseball operations and player development since 2016.

PLAYING CAREER

Played professionally for a total of 15 years, including 11 seasons in the Major Leagues with the Cardinals (2005- 12), Dodgers (2013) and Reds (2014-15)...hit a combined .278 (905-for-3252) with 169 doubles, 13 triples, 28 home runs, 284 RBI and 416 runs scored in 1,149 big league games...Selected by St. Louis in the fifth round of the 2001 MLB Draft...A two-time World Series Champion in 2006 and 2011 with the Cardinals, Schumaker was an integral part of their 2011 title, appearing in six World Series games against Texas, including starts in center field in Game Five, Six and Seven...finished the postseason with a .381 (8-for-21) average with four RBI and two runs scored in 1 1 games...In both 2014 and 2015, was the Cincinnati' Reds nominee for the MLBPA's Marvin Miller Man of the Year award.

Full name is Jared Michael "Skip" Schumaker ...he and his wife, Lindsey, have a son, Brady, and a daughter, Presley...resides in Ladera Ranch, Calif... attended the University of California, Santa Barbara and had 100 total hits for a batting average of an even .400 in 2001... played for the Team USA Squad that went 8-1 and qualified for the 2008 Olympic Games by beating Cuba in the qualifying tournament where he hit .405 with a home run and eight RBI in nine games.
